Steve’s Plumbing & A/C Service uses specialized machinery to introduce our coating system into the plumbing drains and pipes in your home or commercial building. First, the original pipe is prepared for coating. The pipe is cleaned very well with grinding chains and is then flushed with water and dried. We may use a degreaser if there is a buildup of fats, oils, or grease. If necessary, a grinding panel is run through the pipe to roughen the surface for resin bonding. The resin is prepared and a resin pipe with brushes and a video camera is inserted into the pipe system. The resin is then pumped into the pipe at the far end.
As the resin flows, we ensure it is coating your pipes evenly with the brush. We carefully inspect and ensure that the resin covers your pipe completely to an average thickness of 1mm. About every four hours, the process is repeated for additional coats, depending on the size of the pipe. Large pipes require 4-5 coats, while smaller ones may only need 2-3.
