As we near the end of summer, it’s easy to marvel at where the time went. Did you get everything done this season that you wanted to do? Many families are taking advantage of the recently reopened world to make memories around the country.

But with so much time gone, is your home ready for autumn? While it may seem like fall is still far in the future, it’s never too early to make a list and slowly start to check off the Must-Dos before a new season begins. That’s why the Steve’s Plumbing & A/C Service (808) 563-4054. team put together our list of the most important tasks to complete at home before the end of summer.

Drain and Flush the Water Heater

If you have a traditional water heater, draining the tank at least once a year is a necessary way to both protect your appliance from damage and improve its lifespan. Allowing sediment to build up inside the tank and on the heating element can be an expensive fix.

If you need instructions for how to complete this relatively simple DIY, check our past blog post!

Check for Leaks

We use water every day in our homes. But when is the last time you checked on all the water sources in your home? Check all outdoor faucets, sinks, exposed pipes, and other water taps to ensure everything is functioning correctly.

You can check for leaks by looking and feeling for moisture around the base of the faucet or tap. If you find any leaks or are worried about hidden leaks, call our team!

Clear the Drains

If you have been putting off fixing any slow draining or recurring clogs in your plumbing, now is the time to schedule a visit from your local plumber. Fall and winter put a massive strain on your plumbing system. Food waste from rich meals heavy in meats and starches can increase the likelihood or frequency of clogs. Our plumbing also sees heavier use during the holiday season (especially if you plan to host any family gatherings).

Store-bought chemical drain cleaners may work in an emergency, but they can also damage your pipes and cause more problems over time. If you’re in need of plumbing services before fall, contact Steve’s Plumbing & A/C Service (808) 563-4054. online or by phone at (808) 563-4054 to speak to a member of our team and schedule an appointment today!

What Our Clients Say

Matt was very professional and considerate as we are in a COVID world. May not necessarily be the cheapest but you are paying for the quality, peace of mind, and quick response time to my urgent matter. I will definitely call them again for my next plumbing issue.

-Elias S.

If you have any plumbing needs this is the company to use. They said they would be there at 9:30 and by gosh, they showed up at 9:28 that not a normal thing when it comes to plumbing. Both of them were not they answered all my questions without hesitation and got the job done within 45 minutes even though they said it would take an hour and a half.

-Bob J.

Brayden and Maka worked on a major repair at our home over a time period of four days. We have high praise for both of them, their professionalism, courtesy, friendliness, and reliability. Steve’s Plumbing is lucky to have these two fine employees.

Shon Bolo was very courteous. He was very informative about how Plumbing is just as important as the engine of a car. He was very respectful. Even though I wasn’t able to get everything done as expected. Shon was able to install my laundry tub to get my washer ready to drain and connected. Definitely would recommend shon bolo to friends and neighbors. Thank you very much for the wonderful job. Great service Shon!!
